Dr Paul Shonnard

Paul Shonnard, M.D. at Nevada Orthopedics in Lemmon Valley, NV

Dr. Shonnard received his medical degree from University of Nevada School of Medicine and did his residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital. He has also completed an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York. He has been practicing in Reno since 1996.

Dr. Shonnard has ongoing research programs in hip arthroscopy and percutaneous calcaneus fracture work. He lectures and teaches at a master level on hip arthroscopy at national and international meetings on an ongoing basis and has completed textbook chapter submissions for a recent Germany based hip arthroscopy textbook. His work on calcaneous was presented at the National meeting of the Orthopedic Trauma Association. Dr. Shonnard has served as the Vice President of the Nevada Orthopaedic Society, Chief of Orthopaedics as well as the Chief of Surgery at Renown South Meadows and the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, NV. He is subspecialty trained in trauma and his practice focuses on arthroscopic management of joint maladies, shoulder and hip pathologies, joint replacement and trauma.

He is a Nevada native and enjoys skiing, hunting and athletics. He is actively involved in skiing and ski racing programs, in addition to many other outdoor activities. Dr. Shonnard is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is licensed by the State of Nevada.
